Hand-Painted Pet Oil Portrait FAQ
Answers about Little Fur Tales miniature hand-painted pet oil portraits: what you receive, frame sizes, photographs, approval and delivery.
Is this a real oil painting or a print?
Your framed pet portrait is a physical, original oil painting, painted by hand from your photograph. It is not a digital download or a printed photo filter. Our product gallery includes real painting films. This description applies to the framed oil portraits; mugs and accessories are separate products.
What is included with my portrait?
The standard framed portrait includes one hand-painted oil painting of one pet and your selected miniature frame. Choose from 12 styles in Gold, Silver or White. These are finish colours, not solid gold or silver. A display stand is shown as a reference; contact us to confirm availability and inclusion for your chosen frame.
How small is the painting?
Size depends on the frame style. For example, Style 05 has an approximately 10 × 12.3 cm outer frame and a 5.4 × 7.5 cm artwork opening. Style 07 has an approximately 11 × 11 cm outer frame and a 6.5 × 6.5 cm opening. Compare the frame size table and real in-hand photographs. Measurements for Style 08 are available on request.
Can you paint dogs, cats and other pets?
Our examples include dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds and a bearded dragon. Choose a clear photograph of the individual pet you want painted. The standard option is for one pet; contact us before ordering multiple pets in one painting.
What kind of photograph should I upload?
Upload an original JPG, PNG or WebP file up to 10 MB. Choose a well-lit photo with clear eyes, visible markings and the whole head and ears in view. Add notes about distinctive details. The photo guide shows what to look for. If your only photo is old or unclear, contact us before ordering to discuss its suitability.
Can I choose the frame and painted background?
Yes. Choose your frame style first, then its Gold, Silver or White finish and the painted background. Keep the sample background or select another available colour. Finally upload your photo and review your choices. Frame finish and painted background are separate choices.
Does the photo preview show my finished oil painting?
No. Your uploaded photograph inside a frame is a composition guide for positioning and crop. It is not the finished painting, and it does not remove your photo’s background. Digitally created frame and colour illustrations help you compare options; real photographs and making films show the original sample finish. Actual finishes and paint colours can look different under different lighting.
How long does painting and delivery take?
Painting usually takes 3–4 business days after we receive a suitable photo and complete customisation details, or 5–7 business days during busy periods. Weekends and public holidays are excluded. Approval, agreed revisions and shipping transit take additional time. Transit varies by destination and carrier. For a birthday or another fixed date, contact us before ordering; entering an occasion date does not guarantee arrival or reserve express delivery.
Will I approve the artwork before it is sent?
Yes. We send a photograph of the finished artwork for approval before dispatch. Only minor changes may be possible with a physical painting. Any revision fee is agreed before changes are made; a new photo, pose or major redesign may require a new commission. See the approval and revision policy.
Is shipping included and can I track it?
We offer free tracked worldwide shipping to destinations available at checkout, with no minimum order value. If your address is unavailable, contact us before ordering. Applicable import duties or local taxes are separate unless explicitly included at checkout. Read the shipping policy.
Can I cancel, return or report a damaged portrait?
Contact us promptly with your order number. If painting has not started, we can cancel and refund the order; once painting starts, change-of-mind cancellations are not refundable. Custom-made pieces cannot be returned or exchanged simply for a change of mind. This does not limit rights for faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods. Report a problem with a description and, where possible, photographs of the item and packaging. Full details are in our refund policy.
Is a miniature portrait suitable as a gift?
A miniature portrait can suit a pet lover’s desk, a small display area or a personal remembrance space. Check the outer frame size and display fitting before choosing a location. For a memorial gift, consider whether the recipient would welcome a portrait now and let them help choose the photograph. For dated gifts, allow for painting, approval and delivery separately. See our memorial gift guide.
